It’s the real thing
It’s my third week on Coca-Cola. I noticed that Crocs, the maintenance officer started to clean, although not that neatly, there were dusts left but at least. Sir Earl told us that Crocs was doing his job because of us being there. Many papers were scattered, chairs are not in right places and so I arranged it always knowing that by hours later it will be scattered again. Miss Vangie maybe had observed that I arrived first before her, she told me to on the computers as soon as I get there. So I have saved the usernames and passwords to my phone. Then do my usual job.
Miss Vangie ordered as to post Full Goods paper to the piled products in the warehouse. I was tasked to write down the definition like what kind, the quantity and expiry date. Sarah holds the scotch tape and posted it, while Paul counts. There were lots of products piled up in pallets. It took us hours to finish it all.
There was a seminar held for the new investors. We are able to examine the flow of the activity. Big expensive cars where parked in the parking area. The investors are surely rich and business oriented.
In sales there is a big money if you know such techniques and catch the aroma of your costumers. Somehow it keens me to try that field of work someday. It would be a training ground for me to a future cause. Some Sales Officers didn’t graduate in business courses in fact their courses are far from their work today. As they said it’s a wise choice to earn more many in an easy way. Sir Dan treated us as one of them. He gave us water as he gave water to the investors.
Sir John, a SAP encoder said my resume was lost and he saw Sir Julius in Finance holding it. I never believed it. For sure it was just a total joke for fun or what. But the entire people there started teasing me to him. I just smiled and be silent. Maybe it’s a wrong thing to put my personal number there because unknown numbers are calling me and texting me. There’s no privacy or someone intentionally get it. My friends accused Crocs, maybe he is the one texting us. But it really doesn’t matter as long as I only ignore it.
There was a meeting for all Sales Officers. It also serves as their last day together for they will be assigned to other places again. As if there was a feast because of all the foods prepared for them, Sir Earl also prepared foods for us. Like how sweet of our logistic boss, he prepared something for us. Apparently we were afraid of him because of his strict face and voice. By then it such a pleasure for us to be treated such way.

It’s more fun in Coca-Cola
It’s my second week of my On-Job-Training, having more discoveries, more work and more people to meet. Every morning the first person I greeted was the Chief guard. He is the one who checks for our time in and time out. For the past days of the week I’m the early bird and for real I’m scared and I keep on texting my friends to be there in no time. I would then enter the Logistics office. From the very first day I stepped in that office I noticed that it’s not that neat and clean. Maybe because almost of them were boys and cleaning is not their hobby. And so I looked for any cleaning materials, good thing I found one. After I cleaned I started to do my assigned job. I go to the Finance Office to get the Outgoing Load Manifest, arrange it based on time and date, and pile it on a folder; as well as the Incoming Load Manifest and Delivery Reports.
One of the bosses of the sales office gives some work for me to do. Sir Rommel asked me to encode the area where he is consigned. Sir Dan, requested me to type for his letters. Sir Bob, inquired me to copy the located area, name of stores, and contact numbers written in a big map posted in the wall.
Miss Ana let me scan some documents when Sarah (we fondly call her the scanner) was busy into other thing.
Outside the office is the warehouse where the pallets of products piled up. Before we can enter the warehouse we should first wear the (PPE) Personal Protection Equipments. Miss Vangie thought us on how to do the inventory count much easier. I have the same copy of Miss Vangie of all the products to be counted, Paul has too. So we have to count by our own. The Products owned by Coca-Cola are the Coke (of course), Sprite, Pop-Cola, Sarsi, Nestea, Eight O’clock, Wilkins, Viva and, Minute Maid Pulpy. After the physical count, we then compare the results if we have the same results. If the three of us have different result a recount should be done. Then we go back to the office and compare again the physical count from the warehouse and to the data saved in the system.
There is that called SOTEX which means soon-to-be-expired and ALEX which means already-expired. The expiry date of the products has a three months allowance. So products when identified as SOTEX or ALEX are then place in the SOTEX area and ALEX area. Pallets are also inventoried by the end of the month and empty bottles as well.
I really don’t want to tell anyone about my birthday. But when we were having a meeting our boss, Sir Earl read my resume and greeted me in advance. On that day I felt so happy when everyone there including from the Finance and Sales office greeted me. It’s like I’ve known them for so long.
It’s a great feeling to have bosses like Sir Dan, Sir Bob, Sir Angel and Sir Rommel from Sales, Sir Daryl and Miss Gretchen from the Finance, Miss Vangie and Sir Earl from Logistics. They share life experiences, gave helpful advices, laugh at jokes and goofy thoughts. And what I love the most when they always treat as foods and free drinks from SOTEX. I became much closer to my friends Ethel, Sarah, Paul and Jonna, and Charmine whom now I can consider as real friends.
Surely, I’ll never regret why I chose Red System Incorporated Company. It’s more fun in Coca-Cola!

In Time
It’s the first week of my On-Job-Training in Red System Incorporated Company. It’s really making me tense as well as I am excited. I’m so eager to learn so much and want to experience things as if I’m a real employee of the company. I’m hoping for a work that would really keep me busy and would never get me bored. My mother wants me to have my training in banks but I refused to. I’m so thankful one evening after class when Ethel Mercurio and Jonna Lacostales invited me to join them in applying in Coca-Cola.
The Coca-Cola is really big since it’s an international company. Here in Digos City the warehouse- office is located in McArthur Highway. It is kind of far from our home so I have to pay Php40.00 back and forth. The office is divided into three; one is the Finance Office, the other one is the Sales Office and the last one on which who accepted us is the Logistic Office.
Miss Evangeline Cortez is the Mobile Logistics Solutions - SAP Encoder. She is our schoolmate back when she was still in her college years. She used to be a good friend of Ethel and she’s the one who helped us to apply for our OJT in their company. Mr. Earl Brian M. Napao is the Mobile Logistics Solution- Head Office, who interviewed and accepted us. Only five students were allowed, my colleagues were Ethel, Jonna, Sarah and Paul. Miss Vangie assigned me together with Paul in Logistics Office while Ethel in Finance Office and Sarah and Jonna in Sales Office.
The People there are really heart welcoming. They are friendly with happy faces. They assure as that it is more fun in Coca-Cola. It is always Good morning! Even if it is already late in afternoon, of course! ‘Cause where in a business world.
Miss Vangie instructed me what to do every morning. I have to go to the Finance Office to get the Outgoing Load Manifest and arrange it with date and time and pile it in a folder. And as well as the Incoming Load Manifest and Delivery Reports which is produce in our office. At first when I saw the Outgoing and Incoming Load Manifest they were like the same and it confused me a lot, good thing that Miss Vangie told me to base it in the number digits in the edge. The Incoming load Manifest usually consists of three digit numbers while the Outgoing Load Manifest consists of four.
Miss Vangie thought us how to process delivery shipments. The system really made me dizzy. There are so much procedures and I could hardly understand. There are a lot of codes which I write down in my notes for me to remember. There are symbols of pallets, big trucks and pallet trucks, triangles with different colors with different meanings and etc. The SAP system is what the Coca-Cola Company uses since 2008 all over Philippines. Only SAP users could access it with their own usernames and passwords. When you click warehouse and enter the present day you would be able to see the names of costumer’s big stores names. There you can process how many pallets of products they ordered and should be delivered. As soon as the process was done and printed it would be passed on the Finance Office. There is no room for mistakes for I considered it as a crucial work.
Doing the same thing in this week made me grasp that there is no difficulties if I listen carefully and do the right things. In time I would not need the notes with codes and procedures of what to do ‘cause it will be copy pasted in my head.
